About the Screenwriter

My dad was a serial mover. By the time I graduated high school in a rodeo arena in Folsom, California, I had resided at 18 different addresses and attended nine different schools (the largest block of time was in Cameron Park, the setting for Spirit of Darkness). This rolling-stone pattern clearly imprinted into my adulthood, as I now live in my 50th+ home.

I split my undergraduate education between Cal Poly SLO and UCLA where I was a college radio DJ at both schools, then went to law school after a stint working in a Paramount Pictures warehouse in Van Nuys shipping theater standees. I have relatives in various facets of the entertainment industry, including sound effects, stunt work and production.

My legal career started in San Diego, detoured to the San Gabriel Mountains, then took me to Orange County where I pivoted into syndicating real estate investments. After our son graduated high school and entered St Andrews University in Scotland, my wife and I moved to the Pacific Northwest just in time to enjoy the COVID pandemic. We now split our time between Bainbridge Island, Washington and Palm Springs.

I have authored two thrilling, page-burner books on the topics of sales presentations and tax-deferred real estate exchanges, and a coffee-table book of bird photographs. 

I am fortunate to have traveled extensively for both work and pleasure, including all 50 US states and 145 airports around the globe. I love cinema, music, birding, mixology, boating and running. In April 2024, I participated in the 120-mile Highland Kings Ultramarathon in Scotland.

My favorite mainstream movies in the horror genre are Alien, Hereditary, The Exorcist, It Follows, Poltergeist, The Shining, Sixth Sense and The Village.
